I am running SUSE 11.3 (64) on Toshiba L550 with Realtek RTL8191SE card.
I found a driver for it on their website which I tried to install it.
When I issue a make command I got an error message :
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop/build: No such file or directory. Stop.

Assuming there is another way of connecting the machine to the internet (which is very likely as there are updates installed).
Are you using network manager? (I would suggest it, you can select to use it in yast) If you are, you should just be able to select your network at this point similar to windows. Also, to have your wireless active you have to disconnect the wired network. (if you have it plugged in, and since you’re downloading packages I assume that’s the case)
Thank you. I tried configuring through Yast but got a message that Network is currently controlled by Network Manager and its settings can not be edited by Yast
I have the same problem. I instaled Opensuse 12.1 and my card was recognized (realtek with the RTL8192SE driver). But it works just with Gnome. When I change to a KDE session networkmanager does not show any conection.
