Realtek Semiconductor Corp. USB3.0 802.11ac 1200M Adapter - Not Working?

Hi,

Running openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE 64Bit on a custom desktop.
I am trying to get a Realtek USB WiFi adapter to work.
Exact name of adapter is below:

jlp@SortaFastDesktop:~> lsusb
...
Bus 003 Device 013: ID 0bda:b812 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. USB3.0 802.11ac 1200M Adapter
...
jlp@SortaFastDesktop:~>

As shown above, the adapter is recognized by system.
But when I enable wireless internet the adapter is not listed?
Any ideas, thanks!

Jesse

Output of 'usb-devices":

T: Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 15 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0bda ProdID=b812 Rev=02.10
S: Manufacturer=Realtek
S: Product=USB3.0 802.11ac 1200M Adapter
S: SerialNumber=123456
C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=500mA
I: If#=0x0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 5 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)

“Recognized” is bit a big word. What you see is that the codes 0bda:b812 are found in a list on your system. That list has as many as possible names of vendors and products, so that lsusb (or other tools) can provide you with that, easier to read, information:
Vendor: RealtekSemiconductor Corp.
Product: USB3.0 802.11ac 1200M Adapter
But that is only explanatory text. It does not mean that there is any software on board to do something useful with it.

USB device is recognized by system. To be recognized as wireless adapter you need proper driver.

Any ideas, thanks!
