I’m new to linux, I need your assistance to get wireless running, I appreciate all your help!

Realtek seem to be notoriously difficult on any distro I’ve tried and the general consensus seems to be to replace them with something else. However, there is plenty of help on github for many of the devices. See this link. There maybe some help for you. I’ve used it for 2 realtek dongles.

You need to install the packages kernel-devel and kernel-default-devel to be able to build kernel modules.

Btw, it looks like you use 42.1, not 42.2, as all what you posted only mentions Kernel 4.1.34 (42.2 will have 4.4.x).

I installed the dev packages and downloaded Peteh100’s recommended files from github.
Wi-fi is working, problem solved! Thank you guys!
