Realtek r8168 Driver

I have viewed other threads that have this same issue however I can’t get any to work. My motherboard has a nic that needs the r8168 driver. However the make command is not found. This is apparently due to not having the linux development environment and is crucial in running the script for the install. I am running OpenSUSE 13.1

The ways described to get the package set involves using the internet, which I can’t do. So how do I go about getting the package from another machine to put on this one. I can’t seem to find the proper place to download the package, and I’m also worried about dependency issues. Any help on this step and I think I can possibly continue the installation of the network driver.

TL;DR need to install “make” command however can’t use internet to get it from Yast software enter.

You may check on the DVD ie put it in and run Yast It may be that at least a few tools may be there. Generally not everything on the DVD gets installed by default

A long time ago I had a MB with a built in NIC that was troublesome. I spent a couple of £$ on ebay for a PCI NIC and it saved me a considerable amount of trouble.

I added the installation media as a repository and there wasn’t anything on it. No packages came up in Yast. Is there another way I can get the make command and install it?

Hi
Grab the rpm for your arch from here and use zypper to install from the command line;
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/suse/

Else grab the r8186-kmp for your kernel from here and install that;
