So my motherboard uses a rtl8125b onboard nic that supposes to do 2.5Gb speed. I’m not getting nowhere near that speed, approx 1.5Gb. Running same test with my usb dongle that uses RTL8156 will do roughly 2.5Gb speed.
Running latest kernel and booting into windows gave the same problem. Is the nic so bad or is it a driver issue that needs to be addressed by realtek?

This will add the Repo also for Updates.
Applied blacklist r8169 too. I get 1.6Gb/s now instead of 1.5Gb/s. Setting mtu to 9000 did nothing. Also this error pops up now when I’m trying to disable en re-able the nic.
Small update. I have a pci-e nic with the same chipset/revision that I run the same basic test with on a 10 year old pc and it performed way better ? 2Gbit fibre saturation. Must be a crappy implementation of motherboard manufacturers then? Too bad I can’t put it in my main gaming rig because of m-atx and a chunky gpu. So now I must choose between the onboard lan with modifications or a dongle. Dongle doesn’t work after applying mods.
