Of course, NOW there’s a fix found for the yast issue…

I saved it as a script:

zypper remove yast2-libyui
zypper install yast2-libyui
zypper install yast2-ycp-ui-bindings
zypper install yast2-update
zypper install yast2-qt
zypper install yast2-ncurses

This fixed the issue on my 32bit machine.
