Re: Network Icon.

Can someone tell how can i have a network icon in system tray, which shows the flow of data just like in windows.
The problem is many times i dont know whether the internet is working or not. When i download some files & if there is any break in receiving data atleast i come to know, otherwise i wait endlessly not knowing whether i am recieving the data or not. Even many times the internet get disconnected & i dont know. In windows i get a cross sign in the netwrok icon.

Further, also let me know the prgram which can show me my total uploads & download

Thanks

KDE4 provides several Miniprograms (“plasmoids”) for exactly that task.

Can you suggest some, i am trying to find Eyecandy for your KDE-Desktop - KDE-Look.org but not sucessfull.

Thanks

Right-click on the desktop and choose to add a mini program.

Or use one of the other KDE4 Network Monitors available, there are quite a few, google is your friend.

Thanks…

I found Knemo0.5.2.

The file is in .tar.gz & i dont how to install such file …can you let me know…

You don’t.

Knemo has to be configured via the KDE4 “system settings”.

Can you elaborate more means how to do ?

I am a newbie in Linux can say just 2 month old…

Type

systemsettings

as normal user, search for “knemo” and configure according to your needs.

Thanks !!!
