Re: Installing openSUSE 11.1 on Vista Machine.

Hi,
I have openSUSE 11.1 on my Desktop PC since last three month & i have enjoyed using it.
Now i want to install opensuse 11.1 on my Laptop having Vista on it. The Lappie has 160GB HDD with a Partition of as under

  1. unnamed (Vista Preinstalled files) - 10GB
  2. C: Vista - 70GB.
  3. D: Backup Files - 70GB.

Now, i plan to shrink the D: to 40GB & make space for Opensuse 11.1 with 30GB (approx.)
I intend to left 30GB without formating so opensuse can detect it & partition it accordingly.

Now my question,
when i install opensuse will i have to manual configure grub since there is one unnamed (Hidden) partition… will it get confuse as boot up drive.
I tried to get the answer from the posted queries, but iwas not able to find. There was information about installation on Vista machine but nothing about hidden partition.

Kindly letme know, how to do

I have a similar partition on my laptop which openSUSE detected correctly (it shows up in sysinfo) but did not include in GRUB.

I cannot see any obvious problem with the way you want to do it.

Thanks !!! I just wanted to be sure before installing…
