Re: Export Emails in Kontact / Kmail

Dear All,

Can some1 tell me how to export all the emails i received in KMail/Kontact to outlook express if in future i think to switch over to windows.

I found the formatting in Kmail or Kontact is not upto the mark, the messages in outlook express looks (formatting) different when typed in Kmail.

I am not sure if there is any easier way but you can:-

  1. create new folders in kmail (in the ‘mbox’ format) and drag the emails from the current folders into the new folders.

  2. set up Thunderbird in Windows and copy the new folders over

  3. use one of the conversion tools (pick one using google) to convert the emails from Thunderbird to Outlook Express dbx format
