rd1000

I have an internal RD100 using SATA that i am trying to use for backup. I also have a usb RD100. the usb mounts using automount and is /dev/sbc1. I can’t seem to find the internal one at all. how do i find it. here is my lspci and mount info

the last device is the usb RD1000 that is automounting

hmmmmm…is this server hardware? did it come with SUSE on it?

if so, i guess you are not running openSUSE but rather SUSE Enterprise
Linux Server (SLES) or Desktop (SLED)

you can find out for sure by, doing this in a terminal:

cat /etc/SuSE-release

IF you are running SLED/SLES then i highly recommend you ignore all
advice here and ask again in the real forum for Novell’s
commercial offerings at forums.novell.com

the reasons are many…well, yes openSUSE and SLED/SLES are related,
but most folks here have never run the commercial version and there
ARE some differences…and, second if you are getting regular updates
then you have a service contract of some sort and at the VERY least
you will be welcomed into their forums…

all that said: your first post seems to ask where your internal rd1000
is, and it seems clear to me (from the output of the mount command in
your first posting) that it is an ntfs disk mounted on
/media/RD1000-160GB as seen here:

/dev/sdc1 on /media/RD1000-160GB type ntfs (rw,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000)

i guess if you put this in a terminal
cat /etc/fstab

you will see the same there…

and
cat /etc/mtab

will show it also

ohhh…i have no idea about all of those “doesn’t contain a valid
partition table” in your second post…

Your are right its Enterprise edition. it came with our dell. I will have to switch to the Novell forum. the RD1000 you see is the usb one. I did find it in dmesg using dmesg | grep RD1000. and the usb one was not plugged in on startup. Thanks for the help
