Random Question box not showing in search

Topic…I never see the Random Question: box and am unable to search.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

I do not see a box “Random Question” om the forums pages either. But why do you assume there should be one?

And please explain what you mean with “I am unable to search”. This is very much like the infamous “it does not work”.
Is there no Search box? Can you not type there? When you click the looking glas there does nothing happen?

This is a technical forum, nobody here is clairvoyant, so please always explain what you do, what you expect to happen and what happens instead.

Well…I was going to post a screenshot, but it looks like this isn’t possible without a link instead of a file. So, with that being said I’ll explain:

I go to: https://forums.opensuse.org/search.php
Type in, let’s say “Tumbleweed” in Keyword(s) and click “search now”

And now it works. How odd…I was getting an error about not answering the random question correctly. Oh well we move on…thank you.

Ah here we go…I was able to reproduce this after logging out of the forums…this is the response I get:

The following errors occurred with your search

  1. The answer given for the random question was incorrect.

BTW when you want to post pictures or very long computer (terminal) text here you can paste them to https://susepaste.org/ and post the link here.

For shorter computer terminal texts we have an important, but not easy to find feature on the forums.

Please use CODE tags around copied/pasted computer text in a post. It is the # button in the tool bar of the post editor. When applicable copy/paste complete, that is including the prompt, the command, the output and the next prompt.

I am not sure, but it could be that you were subject to some automatic antispam action because you are new here. In any case it looks as if the system now accepted you fully :slight_smile:

IMHO your experience is useful for us. We use a new logon system since about a week.
I guess not many of us tried to use the forums being not loged in. So thanks for reporting.
