Random link downs from eth0 post 13.1 upgrade

HELLO ALL.

After upgrading from 12.0 to 13.1, I get random link downs from eth0. These are fake, my router reports no such condition and it never happened under 12.0. Unfortunately, networking sees this, gets faked out, then unconfigures the device. /etc/init.d/network restart will fix the problem, but it will manifest again in 1 to 5 minutes. dmesg doesn’t report the link down but if I view the logs for SuSENetwork I see the link reported as “down”.

I tried setting autoneg off in /etc/sysconfig/networking/ifcfg-eth0 and confirmed it’s off with ethtool. This doesn’t fix it.

Ideas?

Might be only a minor detail, but openSUSE 12.0 never existed. And when you come back with the correct version you upgraded from, can you then please add how you “upgraded”. Upgrading is in fact only a generic term and there are many ways to switch to some newer openSUSE level.
