Laptop: Samsung X20 1730 II
SuSe 11.2
Powermanager: 2.28.0/2.28.2
Hi all,
I have above configuration and the system running fine for weeks. Since a few days I encounter random hibernation of my laptop. the shut down occurs almost always directly after initial boot. After wake up it works fine. Usually the system shuts down unforeseen and independent of the battery level. Hibernating always occurs when power manager switches of the monitor.
Downgrade to 2.28.0 partially helps but doesn’t solve. Anyone an idea?
I presume it is gnome-power-manager 2.28.2 (and gnome-power-manager 2.28.0) and GNOME.
I have upgraded mine to gnome-power-manager 2.28.3 and changed the preferences with
right click on the battery symbol in the “Notification Area” on the panel
> Preferences (= Power Management Preferences)
> register “On AC Power” AND register “On Battery Power”
> under “When laptop is closed” I changed both times the preferences to “Blanc sceen” (instead of “Hibernate”)
