RaLink RT3290STA

Hello, Im having some trouble with my HP Probook 4540S Wireless Driver. I installed the RT3290 PCIe V2.6.0.0. I have changed the config.mk with HAS_WPA_SUPLICANT=y and HAS_NATIVE_WPA_SUPPLICANT=y before installing. It looks like installed something but when I right click on the Network Manager icon in taskbar I cant Enable Wireless.

I have blacklisted rt2800pci and rt2x00pciin /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist as I saw in few guides on google.
I tried to change from YaST > Network Settings to Traditional Method with ifup and things still not working:

My “ifup” config looks like that:

Anyone any suggestion? What else should I do in order to get my wireless card working? It is really frustrating, I followed https://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/391535-my-wireless-doesnt-work-primer-what-i-should-do-next.html, https://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/486975-rt3290-wireless-proprietary-drivers-not-working.html from this forum and other I found in Google. I really appreciate some extra help please.

rfkill unblock 0 solved my problem. Thanks to buttugly

Maybe this thread is still alive

Ähhhm i have a question with regard to the ralink driver:

I also have a ralink 3290 in my laptop …
1.) I sometimes encounter, that the connection breaks up “randomly” but it won´t reconnect, as long as a don´t reload the rt2800pci module by hand… Then it seems to work again and breaks up randomly after some time… That is the first problem.

2.) The bluetooth doesn´t work altough it is listed (lspci).

I was thinking of installing the driver from ralink´s mediathek as it is said often when you google around. The thing: 1. is it true, that the driver is already built in the kernel? That would mean a installation would be senseless (when i´am right?) 2. The “make” said the follwoing errors– Are they serious when i make the installation?

cc1: some warnings being treated as errors

What version of openSUSE are you using? If it is not 13.1, then you might have
some success with the compat-wireless package, which might also be known as
backports.

Yes - you failed to make the module!! Because you reported the error messages
from make, and not the ones from the compiler, we have no idea what is wrong. My
best guess is that you do not have the kernel headers installed.

… I am using Opensuse 13.1 Kernel 3.11…
Which package are the headers? Is there a package for 13.1 of the headers?

Is there any experience if the driver will work for both wireless and bluetooth?

Thx!
