Yesterday, the Updater Applet of my OpenSUSE 11.2 installation installed a new version of xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd and today video doesn’t scale any more with my Radeon HD 4350. I found rollback / downgrading instructions in the forum from 2008, but I couldn’t map them to the current version of YaST2. The following work-around fixed the problem for me:
-
YaST2 - Software - Software Repositories; select Update repository; uncheck “Enabled” property; OK
-
Logout; go to ctrl+alt+F1 console; login as root; run “init 3”
-
YaST2 (text mode) - Software - Software Management - search for radeonhd; uninstall package (change flag to “-” by pressing space key and confirm)
-
enter software management again; search for radeonhd; version offered is from 2009; select, install and quit YaST2
-
run “init 5”
-
enable the update repository again / undo step 1
-
YaST2 - Software - Online Update: right-click on the radeonhd package that is offered for update and select “taboo - never install”; ok/accept
Does anybody know what the bug “582649” is that this update is supposed to fix?
Hope this is useful and best regards,
JJ
