The Suse forum is beautiful… Though I dont really like the blue arrowed Quotes. Cant they be put inside boxes like Codes? That would be neat, isnt it?
Quoting and formatting will be different depending on what client is used to access the forums. NNTP clients typically use the “>” to indicate quotes, and that’s what you are seeing.

Any idea what that would look like on the NNTP interface?
My guess is that without some sort of translator in the middle, it’d be
difficult to use.

Looks OK here, though in my quoteback (from NNTP), I note that there is
no blank line between your quote and the parent - IOW, it usually looks
like this in NNTP:
