I have quickemu installed with VMs: one Windows 10 and one FreeBSD 14.
The Windows 10 VM has been working for a few months without problems.
Today I installed the FreeBSD VM, I started it but it hung right after the boot menu.
So I tried the Windows 10 VM, and it sure hung the same way right after boot.
I think some update broke qemu, but I did not find anything by googling around.
Any hint?
I was just about to make a post on this last week, and you beat me to it!
It is definitely related to the qemu version upgrade. I tested it on multiple Quickemu versions, and it persisted. My solution was to lock all the qemu packages, but you claim they are working now? Have you upgraded again since?
Hi @Android_Gynous
Yes I can confirm it is fixed here. And yes, I updated again yesterday.
I am not sure if qemu got updated, but now things are working so I guess so.
Quickemu is version 4.9.4 and qemu is version 9.1.0.
Yes. It also appears there was one new package that was added:
system-user-qemu
Not sure if this might have been related, but it didn’t exist on my system prior to the last dup.
The last update solved it for me too, but I’d be curious to find out what the source of the problem was if someone out there may have more information on it.
