Quick reply the default?

Another one about the new incarnation of our Forums.

When I click the “+ Reply to thread” button I apparently get a so called Quick Reply panel instead of the earlier full featured one. I have to click on a “Go Advanced” button to get to the “normal” one which has among other things:
. the “Preview Post” button (which I really need because else I will never find all my typos);
. but what is worse (because it is just not about my personal thick finger syndrome), the “Wrap CODE tags around selected text” button in the toolbar (the #).

Thus less and less usage will be made of this, for us “computer people” very important feature. And telling new people how to use it (which I do at least a few times week) becomes a real hassle now because one has to explain to use an extra button to even be able to see the # button.

My question thus will be clear: can we have the full featured reply panel on the “+ Reply to thread” and the quick panel on the (earlier called “quick reply”, but now called) “reply” button back? I hope it is just a configuration thingy and not a coded one.

I find this too
But just occasionally when I click +Reply to Thread it goes advanced right away.

Well, in fact there were occasions where I thought “did I really allready push the Go advanced button”. But I prefer to think that I am acting irrationaly sooner then some software. Glad you confirm that it does for reasons not understand by us mere users of the forums softeware.

Hello i’m testing Reply button from the below right corner of a thread.Reply button is at the left side of Reply With Quote.
This post went after the post of hcvv.
But it click the Reply button from the post of caf4926.

The first button you refer was call “quick reply” in the past.
I mean the blue “+ Reply to Thread” button lower LEFT. That did allways give full functionality, but it now (and as you can read above, not allways) gives the same reduced functionality of the Reply at right.

+1; very annoying.

personally i believe no user should be presented with a reply window
which does not have the “Preview Post” button and a “Send” button…

which changes to “Sent - No changes possible” once pushed…

then, do away with the ten minute edit…like was done with the email
client Moses used!

just because Redmond & *buntu (or wherever) coddles their kids with
big erasers, does not mean we have to have training wheels in our
distro, or fora…doing that and pretty soon they will demand every
terminal be provided with an undo button for

Do you still use openSUSE 10.3?
