Opensuse Leap since several years… Currently I use Xfce on X11. I am fine with Xfce — I don’t like Gnome nor KDE. I have looked at Cinnamon and MATE and LxQT once — but I like Xfce. I further use LightDM.
- What do I have to use Wayland generally? (Like to see if my current applications do work with Wayland…)
- Is it right, that for real DE there currently only are Gnome and KDE (which I both don’t like), LxQT is almost ready, Xfce is much work to be done yet?
- What about things like Sway or Weston? I have heard about, but don’t know much… They are not real DE, are they. Can one use them instead? What are the circumstances?
- I use LightDM as DM? What is to say about DM? Is such one still needed? If yes, which one?
TIA!
