Does anybody have a script to delete all of the useless files that build up with time in the tmp and var directories?
Also I remember that some time ago there was also a guide on periodic maintenance of the yast database too
Can anybody help please?

You already have, it’s in /etc/cron.daily/suse.de-clean-tmp
