Question about packages in the new Factory model

I was excited to see that Factory was going to move to a more rolling release model. It was dampened some when I went to actually install a fresh copy and both the KDE LiveCD and net install crash during install (I would think they would have a working image before they announce the change but whatever).

However, once I’ve noticed with the packages in factory is that they push a lot of release candidates into the repo. With the old model, this makes sense, since it was basically testing for packaging and early problem. However, with the new model of it being a more stable, useable product, I didn’t know if that was changing.

While RC are usually fairly stable, they often have last minute show stoppers, and I’d rather not being rolling through all of the release candidates – just the final versions.

For example, Factory currently has the 3.16 RC6 kernel and Libreoffice is 4.3.0.3 (which is pretty close to the release version, except for a non-linux fix), neither of which is actually released yet. Especially for the kernel, I’d rather wait for the whole thing to be released before moving up to it.

Has any one heard of plans to only push released software into the repo?

I would suggest asking those questions on the Factory Mail List instead,
because there you can reach the people creating factory.
