Question About Num Lock Key

I just upgraded to v. 12.1 (64-bit, KDE desktop).
I know how to turn the Num Lock key on after I log in and KDE starts up.

Is there any way that I can have Num Lock on at system’s start up? (i.e. before the log in screen?)

PS: I do have that feature turned on in my BIOS, but openSUSE’s boot up process seems to disregard that…

Thanks.

Find the “Configure Desktop” application. On my Lancelot menu, it is under “Computer”.

Towards the bottom of the window, you’ll see “Hardware”. Select “Input Devices”. The setting you’re looking for is on the top.

Traditionally, this was set in “/etc/sysconfig/keyboard”, variable
“KBD_NUMLOCK”. I can’t say if 12.1 respects that.

Then report as bug in Bugzilla.

Why Bugzilla?

Yes, it does! Thank you for your help.

Never mind… I thought you were talking about Bugzilla as referred to Mozilla’s products instead of bugzilla.novell.com.

oh my, couldn’t help myself… lol!
