Query on a very strange problem related to NFS mount

I have set up nfs server on Suse 9.
This machine is connected via a LAN switch to the nfs client. Initially every thing was up and running and i was able to mount the remote directory on the client and fetch the files.

Then the LAN switch powered off. After restarting the LAN switch, i saw that the client was unable to mount the network directory. The error returned was 0xd (EACCESS)

Both the server and the client machines were able to ping each other.

After restarting the Suse linux pc, the client was able to mount the remote directory.

Is there any way the rebooting of the LAN switch can impact the working of NFS server on Suse 9?

If any one has any idea about this please do let me know. Thank you in advance.
