Yesterday QMMP suddenly refused to start. After looking in yast at qmmp, there was one package showing in red.
I uninstalled that one, and for some part that fixed the issue. ( qmmp works again, plays mp3 and ape files to name two important ones for me, but does not play mpc files any-more )
The package I removed was something like mpg 123 ? ( is there a way to see what I uninstalled ? )
I am lost on how to fix this. Did an update do this ?
VLC media player and Mplayer still play those mpc files, so its not that my system can’t play mpc files, it’s limited to QMMP.
QMMP version 1.3.1-6.1 from packman.
Also installed:
libqmmp-plugin-mplayer - MPlayer plugin for libqmmp 1.3.1-6.1
Also from packman.
Check “/var/log/zypp/history”.
Thank you.
It seems I can look back as far as 2015
Found the name of the package, my memory still works. rotfl!
qmmp-plugin-pack-mpg123|1.2.3-5.2|x86_64 is the package I removed. ( and was causing issues )
Copied the history file to home and opened it there. The message in the red square made me do it. I did not want to accidental save and mess up that file.
Now will look in yast and or google, to see if I can fix this 100%.
QMMP still does not play those mpc files.
I googled and found this page:
http://packman.links2linux.com/package/qmmp-plugin-pack/884616
The one click install seems to work, it also added a repository, but I still can’t play those mpc files.
I am lost. Do I need to contact packman ?
I also opened the command line, and started qmmp there, then right clicked on a mpc file, and clicked open it with qmmp.
No out put on the command-line, I was hoping for a clue, but nothing.
I am giving up.
This is taking too much of my time, for a very minor issue.
Tried to download an rpm for 42.2 , and that did not help either. ( that gave some file conflicts, I could solve with yast, but after this qmmp still does not play mpc files)
I am however 99.9 % sure that gave me the file, I deleted.
I will convert the mpc files with audacity and or try to find the files in a different format
Looking at packman I get the feeling that file is there for 42.1 42.2 leap 15.1 but not 42.3
Still can play those files with other media players ( vlc and mplayer)
