I’m looking for pytube or a program similar to pytube that works on opensuse 11.1. The current installer out there is for 11.0 and it doesn’t install correctly. There is a project out there, but it is compiled for ubuntu (.deb):
PyTube Project
Anybody know how to compile the source for opensuse?

No need to.
Just untar the source file and run pytube.py
You’ll need libglade2 and some gtk stuff installed.
Could you be a little more specific, because openSUSE 11.1 already had libglade2 and python gtk stuff. .py files are just opened in a text editor and are not run.
Hi
Just extract and the cd to the directory then run ./pytube.py

just a side note. pytube on 11.0 returns an error for any video, not sure yet if this is something in my system or an issue with the script but once i sort it out i’ll be sure to share;)
