PXE Boot Problme with OpenSuSE 11.4

Hello Everyone,

I have a really funny problem in installing OpenSuSE 11.4 (64 Bit) over PXE.

If I do try to start a PXE Installation, the PXE Bootsystem loads the kernel, and
I guess it trys to start to load the initrd, but then it froze, i need to reset the computer.
On the TFTP Server (aftp) I see that it trys to resend the initrd files and runs into a time out.

Ive the problem on 2 maschines, both with the same Motherboard (ASUS M4N78).

And the PXEinstallation of OpenSuSE 11.3 works fine, without any problems.

Anyone here an idea ?

greetings

Alex

I think it’s your network card… For some reason PXE or TFTP or something does not like Realtek. I had the same problem where it got an address from DHCP and then got stuck on trying to get initrd. I then changed to an Intel network card and it instantly worked… I was installing 32Bit, but I think it could be the same thing…
