Puzzling Desktop message

Firstly, happy new year all.

After successfully installing VMplayer in SuSE 11.1 (after at least
half a dozen re-installs), I get the following message whenever I boot
up or call up any application:

An error occured while loading or saving configuration
information for slab. Some of your configuration settings may not work
properly.
When clicking on the Details button I get this:
Bad Key or directory name: “/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/”: Key
directory may not end with a slash ‘/’

While it does not appear serious, it may just be. Accordingly I kindly
request your assistance with this isssue and how to get rid of it.

Thank you very much.

Same issue, found that is reported to bug and also few resolution.
But most of them disable the capability of record recent program.

As quick solution remove ~/.recently-used.xbel and create folder with
same name.

found bug entry but can not see any documentation for how to apply.

All the best.
