puzzled, very puzzled by the versions

I have a problem to understand the versions of the apps in kde4 in opensuse repos.(Software.openSUSE.org)

Here is an example
in /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0/x86_64
we can see the following entry
] kde4-amarok-1.86-1.16.x86_64.rpm 01-Aug-2008 14:42 3.5M

in /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_Factory/x86_64
kde4-amarok-1.86-1.15.x86_64.rpm 03-Aug-2008 15:45 3.5M

How does it come that the entry in opensuse11 is younger (according to the version) than the one in _factory but was posted earlier?

The openSUSE build service will automatically rebuild packages when there is a change in the packages it is dependent upon, among other things.

The version you are looking at is actually the same, the difference is between the rpm release number (1.15 and 1.16), which just means it was an incremental rebuild. It is not a change in the actual application version.

Hope this helps?

still 1.16 appears dated as 1st of August
and 1.15 appears dated as 3rd of August. As a physicist I am familiar with theory of relativity but this seems to be a mistake.
