Hi All,
This is my first post. A quick question that may sound stupid to some, but how can I put SWAT back into openSuse v12.3.
Thanks in advance.

I think you would have to uninstall Samba from openSUSE and install Samba from source files downloaded from Samba.org. You may want to search for another distro that still includes SWAT or you can give up on it and go on without SWAT. I have written a bash script that helps bridge the gap in standard openSUSE functions and Samba setup. Before you give up on openSUSE, have a look at my bash script intended for use with openSUSE 12.3 but should work with 12.2 as well.

The current version of Samba3 is 3.6.13. You can find source rpm here:
http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/3.6/src/rpm/
The source rpms for older versions of Samba3 are here:
http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/old/src/rpm/
