Pure-ftpd issues with 11.3

So, I got bored last night and figured I’d upgrade to 11.3.

Installation of 11.3 went fine, but I’m apparently having some issues with pure-ftpd at the moment. I got it installed fine and the desktop thinks its running, but I can’t connect from either my laptop or my phone, both of which I’d been able to do in the past on 11.2.

If I open up a konsole and enter the command ftp 192.168.1.101, I get the following output:

Connected to 192.168.1.101
220 - Welcome to Pure-FTPd
220 - You are user number 1 of 50 allowed
220 - Local time is now 19:23. Server port: 21
220 - IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server
220 - You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity

After that it asks me for a username and password, which and when I enter them in, they get accepted without an issue.

When I try to connect via my laptop or phone, however, I just get unable to connect messages. The settings on the router are unchanged since the 11.3 install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn off the firewall first and see if it works.
If it works, then check the firewall and open the TCP ports.

In the meantime, I would strongly recommend reading the documentation for Pure-ftpd.

Good Luck!

That was it, I’d forgotten to tinker with the firewall.

Thanks for the help
