After struggling with various sound issues I decided to install Pulseaudio and configure it to be the default for all apps.
It all seems to be working fine except no sound from Kopete - but I’ll sort that.
My question is, in the Pulseaudio Perfect Setup guide they suggest installing the PA volume controller. Before I go ahead, has anyone installed this on KDE4 and does it work well as it’s seems to be GTK based?
I ask because at the moment I get different volume levels from the different various apps even if they are all set to max. (most notably, youtube through FF seems a lot fainter than say a stream in Songbird). I’m hoping the at I can balance the volume with the PA volume controller as it allows volume adjustment of each individual stream.
