Pulse Audio issues

I am running Open Suse 11.2 on a monster Nvidia Quad Sli enabled gaming rig. Sound card is a Creative Audigy2 ZS
AL lib: pulseaudio.c:386: Context did not get ready: Connection refused
is the error I get in many applications that use the pulse audio server. I have disabled the KDE Arts sound server and still have the same issue, and my pulse audio software is up to date. I downloaded the Unigine Heaven Linux tech demo and had this issue and I also have this issue when trying to run Unreal tournamnt 3 in Wine 1.1.40 and 41 Any information on Pulse Audio would be useful as I am pretty unfamiliar with it. thanks…

i had to deselect pulseaudio in the sound settings
also try to change: systemsettings

I’m using 11.1 rather than 11.2, but I blew away Pulse to resolve issues
with it interfering with sound in YouTube and other Flash web sites. I
regard it as a nuisance and don’t see why it is included in openSUSE.

yea pulseaudio is not ready for prime time. >:(
I don’t see why alsa uses a plugin to pulseaudio…it’s getting worse…
