I’ve been trying to get the latest KDE version of OpenSUSE to connect to the internet through a proxy and have been banging my head against the wall all day. I’ve looked at everything I could find on the web and still can’t figure it out. I’ve tried to set it up through YaST and that doesn’t seem to work. I’ve changed the settings in both /etc/wgetrc and /etc/sysconfig/proxy with http_proxy = http://user:password@proxy:port and just can’t seem to get it to work.
The proxy/username/password isn’t the trouble as it’s working through Firefox as I type but actually getting the software updaters and such is what I can’t seem to get right, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
