proxy problem

Hello
I’m new user in open SUSE 11.4 64 bit, so i don’t know it very well!
I have hp probook system.
I want to connect to Internet with wireless.
my network has proxy.
I don’t know how can i connect to Internet with proxy.
I don’t see wireless icon in the right part of panel in my screen desktop .
I went to “proxy configuration” and set my proxy in it, and also went to “proxy_KDE control module” (configure the proxy servers used)and choosed "Use proxy configuration URL"and wrote my proxy and applied it but an error window told me “invalid proxy set up”.
Then i choosed “Manually specify the proxy settings” and went to “setup” and set my proxy on it and ticked “use the same proxy server for all protocols”.then i clicked “ok” . and in “Authorization” part i chose “prompt as needed” because i don’t have a password for my network. finally i applied it.
After it i went to YaST2 (network setting) and i selected DHCP and clicked “edit” and then “next” and then “scan net work” .Fortunately it knows my network in “network name”. I clicked on "Expert settings"and then “next” and finally “Ok”. After that ,in my web browser (fire fox) i set proxy in “Internet options” but when i load a page an error appear “The proxy server is refusing connections”
please help me
please notice I’m a new user in SUSE!!!
thanks alot

if you setup the proxy on KDE, the onbly web browser with proxy is
konqueror, if you’re using seamonkey or firefox you have to setup it,
edit -> preferences -> advanced -> proxy for seamonkey
