When I installed this system at the very beginning, and now looking at Yast2, I see that “protect bootloader with password” is uncheckmarked, and yet when I boot the system, which is encrypted, I must enter a password before I can even see the bootloader. This means that I can’t even use the bootloader to select another boot option, like booting off the windows hard drive, and so I have to either go into BIOS and choose my boot device or just turn off power to my external hard drive which has openSUSE Tumbleweed on it. Is it supposed to be this way? or should that box be checkmarked?
It’s not your bootloader that has a password. Apparently you have full disk encryption, that is what the password is about AFAICT
