"Proper" way to force fsck

If I ever need that, I would boot from rescue media or from a USB drive, and run “fsck” there while the file systems are not in use.

I have rarely needed it. But I’ll admit that I don’t know what is the proper procedure for “btrfs”.

Yes, it is. But I still don’t use it. I’ve been satisfied with “ext4”.

And even with BTRFS you can mount home on another partition you don’t have to use the defaults or the same file system
