promise fasttrack tx4310 not working SUSE 11.0

I’ve been messing with this a little in 10.3 and now again in 11. My father insisted on WIN XP for a long time. Now that he has finally gotten tired of windows, he has decided it is time to jump into openSUSE. However, his RAID 5 array isn’t being recognised, and that is where he keeps 99% of this personal files (music, etc). I popped in a LIVE KDE4 CD and tried to see if 11.0 could recognise the card, but nothing. Output of lspci:

I have a Promise FASTTRACK TX4310 which PROMISE.COM says is compatible with SuSE 9. I read some other posts around the 'net and read that promise does not yet have support for LINUX 2.6. I read up on tx4310 - NOVELL FORUMS but I’d like to find another way, before trying what that link recommends.

ps - the module name is sata_promise and when I try to load it, I get very verbose /var/log/messages. pastebin - collaborative debugging tool My father wants to quit windows, but only if his RAID system is working. I appreciate any suggestions that anybody can provide.
Remote ssh access is also available (PM me). I would really like to solve this one and put it to rest once-and-for-all.

Thank you in advance,
felipe

Does this help???

Any ideas on how to get this working? I’d REALLY like to dump Windows XP. Promise.com shows support for SUSE 9.0, Why is this not working on SUSE 11?

no love…

Best give up on it mate… Tried the same thing in Gentoo with same messages and no ones been able to figure it out for me either.

Looks like microsoft and windows still do alot of things better than linux.
