/proc/PID/mapped_base

Hi

I have an application which requires that a certain value is placed in the mapped_base attribute for that PID in proc. It seems that there is no mapped_base present in the /proc for any processes in OpenSUSE 11.1? Is that to be expected?

Yes. Found the following with google (search for ‘proc mapped_base’):

In Linux kernel version 2.4.19 and above all memory mapped regions are filled from the top of process memory down, obsoleting the need for this tunable parameter.
