Hi guys! I’m a new opensuse user and I got this problem. I plugged in an external HD (USB my book western digital 2t) and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. today I started opensuse and I could not find the hd anywhere. the folder /media is empty. I tried fdisk -l as SU and the disk seems to be there, but still no chance to get into it. any info or advice? Please help me!
thank you all

after plugging it in run (in konsole) run “dmesg|
tail” to see the messages, I found that if amarok
2.x was running my usb mp3 player wasn’t able to
sync and be mounted

If the drive is formatted in NTFS, it is possible a solution is to boot to MS-Windows, insert the drive, then unmount it properly and remove it. Then shutdown MS-Windows (ensure drive was unmounted properly and removed before shutting down MS-Windows) restarting to Linux. Plug your drive in once Linux has booted. Does that help ?
Have you tried to replace the usb cable?
