Problems with Systemd starting mythbackend

Hi All,

I have always had Suse as my desktop all the way back to mid 2000’s but i use Mythbuntu for my media centre, now i have come a bit stuck as my new upgarded hardware is too modern for the consivitave distros that Ubuntu release so i have had to load opensuse so i could at least get a GUI!

However now have loaded all the various packages and restored by database (which is a pain on a gerenral distro!), i cannot get systemd to start the mythbackend service. it starts fine under a normal user terminal, i set all the passwords back to as plain as possible and now rather than getting a generic 130 error i get this

mythbackend.service - MythTV backend service
   Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/mythbackend.service; enabled)
   Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed 2015-02-04 22:39:23 GMT; 5min ago
  Process: 1523 ExecStart=/usr/bin/mythbackend --logpath /home/mythuser/mythlog --loglevel info (code=exited, status=217/USER)
 Main PID: 1523 (code=exited, status=217/USER)

i have given the users on the system as much permissions as i think it needs it just seems like every distro has its own way of doing systemd and becuase i have been very lacking in upgrading recently i am at a bit of a loss!

where do i start with logging or troubleshooting with this?

what does the log /home/mythuser/mythlog say
is there a mythuser user on your system, try changing the log level to verbose --loglevel verbose
if there isn’t a mythuser user change this

ExecStart=/usr/bin/mythbackend --logpath /home/<you>/mythlog --loglevel info

do you have the proprietary codecs from packman installed, as this is a video application it probably needs mpeg2/4 codecs you can only get those from packman.
