I faced with a trouble in openSUSE LEAP 42.1
I can’t play neither test sound in Phonon settings, nor any audio file. Though there’s Phonon GStreamer is selected as backend, and gstreamer codecs (good, bad and ugly) are installed. The test sound for left and right speakers DOES work. Sound is controled via alsa. How can I fix that trouble?
Make sure your gstreamer plugins are from a single single repository, If you mix the repos and install some from one repo and other from packaman. it may break and cause problems.
If you have packman repo enabled you can try
sudo zypper dup --from yourpackmanreponame
make sure the hdmi is not selected as an audio output (it happens quite often), check your audio levels they could be set to 0, post your repo list as you may have packages from incomparable sources
zypper lr -d
Also take a look at this thread: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/511323-Gstreamer-error
I’d try clearing the gstreamer cache (~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/), as recommended by wolfi in post #2 of that thread.
I’m using Plasma 5 on the OpenSUSE 42.1 and I’m with problems from sound in SMplayer and other, when I play a video MP4, AVI, MPG, etc … I already added packman repositories, but it don’t playing the videos! How do I proceed, so?
