I’m quit new to Opensuse and at the moment i’m stuck with rdp.
I want to access my Ubuntu machine (12.04) with Remmina from my laptop (OpenSuse 12.2)
There’s no problem to access from Ubuntu to my OpenSuse but in the other way I’m still not able to connect.
From this link I followed the first two steps and this works. I did the same steps on my Ubuntu machine but without any luck.
I’ve tried with vnc and with rdp
So if anyone could help it would be nice.
As I was curious about how you are trying to connect I installed Remmina via YAST. I was not able to connect to another computer, but according to the link your provided in your post I was able to connect with the command
vncviewer 192.168.1.8:1 (after setting it up via YAST->Network Service->Remote Administration(VNC) without a problem. not sure if that will work by default in Ubuntu. I tried few ways to setup Remmina to connect to the other machine, but nothing worked. I can connect back and forth using TightVnc, so hopefully someone else who used Remmina could help you.
So I have used Remmina between two openSUSE PC’s using KDE. On both PC’s, I open up a terminal session and type the following command:
vncserver :1
On the PC I wish to remote, I start running krfb and under settings / security I may uncheck “Ask before Accepting Connections” but check “Allow Uninvited Connections” and enter the required passwords to perform the connection. When you start a new connection, make sure to use VNC in Remmina. If you are going to be rebooting the remote PC, setup YaST so that a user name is automatically logged into and perhaps keep the default Grub 2 option just as you want. I have a bash script for that that can help in openSUSE.

thanks for the response but no luck.
I’ve open on the Ubuntu the terminal typ vncserver :1 The response was positive: the service is running. I did the same on OpenSuse: service is running
Tried again to access remote but same message: unable to connect to VNC Server
Settings on the Ubuntu machine are ok.
I’ve reinstalled Remmina again via Yast but again no luck.
I’ll try later if it works with krfb or with xrdp
If you got some other alternatives, let me know.

Meanwhile I’ve been searching around and i found a solution on my Windows machine.
RDP on Windows wasn’t a problem.
Now, on the ubuntu i’m running Amahi and on their forum i found a working solution for vnc.
So i’m gonna try if the TightVNC also work with OpenSuse and i’ll post the results later
