I’ve had problems with megasync since I updated my computers with Leap 42.1. First it took a while to log in, and this Wednesday an update for megasync appears and now the application doesn’t open at all. It seems that the application is working (top command shows me that megasync is consuming a complete core).
Any idea?
I re-install it several times but nothing changes.
Hi man, I’ve the same problem. Megasync works fine since I’ve installed Leap, until yesterday. I think that the problem was the upgrade to last Plasma available in the additional repos (KF5 and KDEApps), but it isn’t. The problem is the update of the megasync client.
In order to correct this issue, do the following things:
Delete Megasync client.
Delete Megasync repo.
Download from https://mega.nz/#!vQAxGZbb!5gjUFrPMSEtyKvmYcytrf675NkHuFqKlPRhLa8n2ZW8 the megasync client. It’s the previous version, 2.3.1 instead the new 2.6.1.
Install it.
Then, from YaST, search for megasync and mark the package as “Protected”, in order to don’t receive updates.
The link provided by Bruno gets to the download but once the install runs it YaST you end up installing the most current version which still does not work.
Please keep in mind I’m a newcomer to openSuse and may be wrong. If that’s the case, please correct me.
Hi, you must download the file that I’ve uploaded and then install from console with:
zypper in megasyncXXXX.rpm
But it isn’t neccesary now, MEGA has published an updated version for Leap, soy download the last version and install it. The problem it’s solved with latest version and revision.
Best regards.
I decided to try mega recently and I can’t get the sync client to work on 42.1, it installs and starts ok, but when I input my credentials and try to login (my account is working ok via the browser), the progress bar keep only sliding left and right, nothing more happens. No error message, nothing on stdout, strace also doesn’t give anything meaningful :-/.
