Last night I clicked ok to an online update without checking which programs were concerned.
From then on my raid1 does not work anymore.
Rather than releasing some new stuff that “should not cause any problems” some more comprhensive and detailed documentation would have been more helpful.
Now I am stuck with a raid1 that is
- “active, not started”,
- where the single partitions are clean but the superblock of the md0 device is not found and
- the personality for level 1 is not loaded.
I tried to set one of the two partition to “failed” and remove it in order to add it again but this does not work.
I suspect that the change in the sharing of tasks with udev-rules is to blame but I simply do not have the time to put a weekend into surfing the forums for info on the new mdadm version right now. I am not a developer or do I want to beta-test.
-
How can I find out since when I have this version running?
-
How can I go back to the previous version?
-
Is there any systematic documentation available that goes beyond a compilation of some simple examples (howtos) to discuss which command effects what changes in the “mdadm -details” listing?
Thank you my friends!
Here is what I get from detailing and examining the md0 and the constituting partitions:
