I’m installing openSUSE 12.2. During installation I added additional official repository containing KDE3. On desktop environment selection screen I selected installation of only base system with no X-window and later in the installation I choose to customize installed software. I always installed suse that way to make sure that it’s not bloated with packages that I don’t really need. This time I’m having a problem. When I mark kde3-workspace for installation YaST gives me an error that no package supplies udisks-glue. Surprisingly, there are udisks packages on the DVD, its just that KDE doesn’t seem to pick them up. Any ideas or suggestions?
Answer to self: this does happen when installing from the DVD but when performing network installation it seems that everything is OK. It’s a pity I downloaded the DVD and now have to use network install, but at least it works
There is a FAQ on how to install KDE 3.5 on 12.2 here:
