Hi!
I burned opensuse 11.0 to a dvd. When I open the dvd under windows it starts the installation process, but it won’t boot / install from dvd once I turn the computer on. I tried it with a different laptop and it works fine there. Any suggestions? (Booting from a CD works fine)
Processor: mobile AMD Athlon xp 2000+
RAM: 700 MB
Thanks!
try Smart Boot Manager helps get recalcitrant disks to boot. failing that, did you do a media check ?
Andy
Thanks!
I have opensuse 10.3 installed. How do I get the file on teh disk. Using the command line gives me the response “no authorization”.
smart boot manager needs to be run either from a floppy or cd. if you have problems getting it on a floppy, let me know & i will look for the cd iso i have of it. p.m. me your e-mail addy & i’ll send it when i find it
Andy
I sent you my e-mail.
Can I use this with only one cd drive when I want to install the OS from a dvd?
And what do you mean by media check?
yep, the program loads in to memory, so just remove the disc once booted from it, put in new disk, select cd drive & away you go
