Hi folks
I am fairly new to Linux (I put openSUSE on my computer for the first time maybe 3-4 months ago) and so far it’s running pretty good, but I have a couple problems getting a couple games that I want to run, running.
I want to play Fable again for a bit… so I downloaded and set up wine, as well as directx 9 and windows media player as directed. I managed to get all three to install, and then Fable installed by copying the discs over to the hard drive.
When I try to start up Fable, it shows the box prompting me to play in safe mode twice, once for the CPU, once for the graphics driver, which I assume has more to do with the fact that I am using wine and openSUSE than anything else.
Whether I run the game in safe mode or not does not matter. The game starts up in fullscreen with a diagonal line drawn across the screen, the bottom white and the top black, and then crashes, booting me to the login screen.
I’m using openSUSE 11.0. Fable is strait from the discs, and there’s no patches. I’m not sure where to go now, as I can’t really find anyone who has had similar problems. Does anyone have an idea?
I can post additional information, but being new to Linux in general, i’m not really sure what i’d need to post or what commands to use to get it.
Thanks
SK
