I’m running openSUSE 10.3 with the original version of banshee (0.13.1) installed. I’d like to update it to the latest version but the one-click update fails. I tried to install it via YaST Software Management but I apparently don’t have the right method working for me. I can’t just uninstall the old version and install the new version.
I thought I’d sneak up on it by installing an earlier version of banshee (1.0) from a tarball. That didn’t work as the config script said I need gstreamer => 10.3 and all that is installed now is 10.13. I poked around trying to find an update for gstreamer but there doesn’t appear to be anything out there that I can find.
Any suggestions or has anybody actually update from 0.13.1 to the latest version? If so, can you tell me how you did it?
