Problems installing Sapphire Ati Radeon HD 2600 XT

Hi all. My problem is that, after solving my internet problem with my openSUSE, i have decided to install the proper drivers for my videocard so i can take advantage of the nice 3D effects Beryl or Compiz can offer. The problem is that my videocard is not clean ATI, it’s made by Sapphire with the ATI 2600 chipset. After i install the driver like specified here ATI - openSUSE - i used the 1 click instalation, i restart my computer and i have a blank screen. Sapphire does not offer linux drivers or support,in windows i am using the VisionTek Unbeleivably Real as the ex-owner suggested, but they also does not have linux support. I noticed that i am not the only one with that problem, but i decided to create a new thread because i did not seen that problem with this videocard.
Please thake it easy, i can follow instructions, guides, but i’m new to linux so i need step-by-step instructions ;).
Thank you.

I justed went through the installation of the ATI proprietary driver (which eventually turned out not to work well with my card) so i might help you even if I’m quite new to linux too…

Did you manage to open a console after installing it and run
init 3
sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx
?

What’s in your xorg.conf file right now?
