Hi, I am facing a problem to install my SLES 10 SP2 Server Edition in XenServer 5.5
Before i install in XenServer, i already try to installed in VMware worstation. During the installation, it is has the GUI for instruction to install and after complete will direct boot to Gnome, which mean it has user interface.
But now, i installed SLES 10 SP2 Server Edition in XenServer 5.5, i do not know why do not have the GUI. During the installation do not have the GUI and after install then boot in the systems also do not have the GUI.
May I know what is the problems? Is it the XenServer do not match? or?
I already try to type in “startx”, it pop up the error msg below…
this is the error msg i get…
fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server “:0.0” after 0 requests (0 known processed with 0 events remaining.
Kindly please assist me on this matter. I will very appreciate it.
It is quite possible that you get an answer from somebody on the forum (all sorts of knowledge here). But in the meantime you may save time by going to a SLES forum, this is an openSUSE forum.
SLES and OpenSUSE are different?
It is also SUSE…
i browse through the forum… i still not able to get the answer and solve my problems… wish to get help from here…
the problem is that most of the folks here really know very little
about SLES…here we are about 99.9% users of openSUSE who are unpaid volunteers, helping other users of openSUSE…
and, there is enough difference between openSUSE 11.1 with KDE4 and
what you are running that, well…you are not likely to get the kind
of help you deserve, and should get from the people who you PAY MONEY
to to license/use and receive support for SLES…
their forums include folks who work with SLES 10 daily!! i’ve never
ever seen SLES or SLED run for one minute…and, most of the folks
here can say the same…
i can’t help you but i can tell you that you are very very welcome to
wait here to see if anyone one else can–one might happen along at any
time, or not…
